My name is Isabel and I am the English language assistant at IES Antonio de Mendoza for the academic year 2021-2022. I am from Cardiff, Wales and I am 20 years old. I am a student and I am currently studying History and Spanish at Queen’s University in Belfast. This year in Alcalá la Real is my ‘year abroad’ where I will be working in a Spanish speaking country to improve my linguistic skills. It will also be a fantastic opportunity for me to gain some work experience in the teaching field and engage with Spanish culture firsthand. It will be great to get to know all the students and interact with them in English to enhance their language skills.

A bit about me – I love travelling and I am eager to travel around Andalucía and Spain in general whilst I am here to explore the culture and visit different places. I am keen on sports and exercise. I usually play netball at home for my local netball team and I like to train at the gym. I am also a massive rugby fan – it is a central part of our culture in Wales (however I never play – only watch). I am looking forward to spending the academic year here at Antonio de Mendoza and seeing Spain!
